Best place I’ve been in ages! The host was so friendly and advised us what to order. We thought we’d got too much but it was so good that we finished everything! He also gave us some recommendations for other places to visit for food, art and music! The garden is lovely. The person working in it told me all about the different herbs growing that they use in their dishes. We ordered... Quesadillas Tuna tostada...my daughter’s fave... Beet tartare tostada...this one is for me! Carrot tostada...a hit with my husband... Breakfast tacos We will definitely be back! A really enjoyable experience!

Nixta Taqueria has great outdoor dining which is perfect if you have a . I really enjoyed the celery salad and the various unique fusion tostados. The tuna tostado and carrot tostado are exceptional! Service is super fast and staff are so friendly.

Visited this place on my trip to Austin based on a recommendation list and it did not disappoint. The menu is vegetarian friendly with some meat options. I definitely recommend the duck taco! Everything was flavorful, fresh and filling. Atmosphere and vibes are totally on point. I could have sat there all night. Definitely recommend especially if you are a vegetarian.

Cool little place at the end of a residential street. They have a large tent with heaters if you don’t want to brave the cold. I’m sure it switches to fans for the summer. But, regardless, be prepared to sit outside. Ordering your food is part of the over all experience with a host explaining the menu and offering suggestions. Did I mention she’s the bartender too??! As soon as you place your drink order, she whips it right up at the cash register table. The menu is small which I’m always a fan of. It just means they don’t offer a lot, but what they do is really good. We ordered the famous duck tacos and they did not disappoint. My drink was fun and tasty but I wouldn’t mind a semi traditional margarita offering. The chips on the chips and salsa tray were small but delicious. Also have to comment on the incense they have burning. Best smell I think I’ve ever smelt in my life. It was just a very good experience. Kicking off my 2025 mission to explore new restaurants, Nixta Taqueria was an easy pick—and wow, it completely lived up to the hype! After seeing it spotlighted by countless social media personalities, I had high expectations, and Nixta delivered in every way. The venue itself is a feast for the eyes—bright, fun, and full of personality. Even in the heart of winter, the team thought of every detail to ensure the outdoor space near the gardens was just right, down to the little bug sprays on the tables. We ordered the Duck Carnitas, the Tuna Tostada, a Wagyu beef special, and a salsa flight. Every single bite was phenomenal. We even had a honeysuckle NA sparking mocktail. The duck and tuna were absolute standouts for me—packed with flavor and beautifully prepared. Oh, and the black beans that came with the chips and avocado crema, total winner! The salad flight lets us experience a rotating burst of flavor with every bite. What impressed me most, though, was the stellar service. For a taco “stand”, the staff ran the show like a fine dining restaurant. They nailed the pacing of our dishes, checked in regularly, and even coordinated our dessert order so it arrived at the perfect time. It felt like they genuinely cared about our experience, letting us linger and soak up the good vibes. The staff’s knowledge about the menu and their warm hospitality really made the night special. Yes, it’s on the pricey side, but with service and food this exceptional, it’s worth every penny. I already can’t wait to go back! Nixta Taqueria is not just a restaurant; it’s an experience that completely deserves all the buzz.

Fantastic and such flavorful dishes! All the dishes are very unique and actually never tried a duck carnitas or cauliflower taco, but you must try it all and try something new! Incredible flavorful and variety of flavors as well! Beautiful textures too! Lots of seating, friendly staff and an overall great experience!

Nixta is truly something special! From the moment we walked in, Sara and the entire team made us feel incredibly welcome. The service was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and genuine. Every dish was a standout, from the incredible tacos to the one-of-a-kind drinks and desserts. You can taste the creativity and passion in every bite. Nixta is easily one of my favorite dining experiences, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
